World Diabetes Day highlights growing global health threat
By 2035, almost 600 million of us may be living with diabetes.
Held annually on 14th November, World Diabetes Day was launched by the IDF and the World Health Organization in 1991, in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes.
World Diabetes Day serves to unite the global diabetes community and provides a powerful voice for diabetes awareness — with the campaign reaching over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries.
With a healthy lifestyle credited with preventing up to 70% of Type 2 diabetes, the 2015 campaign will focus on promoting healthy eating as a right rather than a privilege.
Team OSP took this message to heart, celebrating World Diabetes Day with a healthy breakfast at HQ.
